Chile de árbol

Chile de árbol ("tree chile") is a small, potent Mexican chile, also called bird's beak or rat's tail chile, closely related to cayenne and pequín. It keeps its red color after drying. The dried pods are toasted and ground into salsas and thin sauces, steeped in oil, or powdered.
